Cairns Elected MARFU Allstar Captain

Congratulations to Bitsy Cairns for being elected captain of the U19 MARFU allstar team!! She will lead the team this winter in an all-star tournament in sunny California. DRFC is very proud! BEST OF LUCK BITSY!

Congratulations are in order for the Lady Dingoes who were selected for the EPRU allstar team. Meghan Currie, Bitsy Cairns, Briana Wight, Alexis Noles, and Rachel Greenlee will represent Downingtown this summer. The girls will be competing in an Allstar tournament in North Carolina in June and will be eligible to tryout for the MARFU allstar team. Congratulations, ladies, we are very proud of you!

REPORT: North Penn at Downingtown

Today the Downingtown Girls continued their undefeated season in a rematch with North Penn Girls RFC. The Lady Dingoes spent the majority of the first half on North Penn’s side of the field, gaining a 25-0 lead. Offensive attacks were lead by fly-half Briana Hauser with some elusive running and hard runs from inside centre, Mary Cate Matta. REPORT: Blackthorn Girls at Downingtown Girls

The Downingtown Girls set the tone for Sunday’s (4/25) all-day rugby marathon which featured wins by the U-19 girls (A-side and B-side), U-19 boys (A-side and B-side) and the U-15 boys. The A-side girls proved to be nearly unstoppable against Blackthorn Girls RFC’s A-side, defeating them 81-0. The Lady Dingoes earned a shutout with an unforgiving defense and dominating rucking.
